Electromagnet is a magnet that will work only with the electric power, battery. We lit the wire to the nail and connect it to the battery. Then, try to attract some staples and it will work. When the battery is taken off, the electromagnet stopped working and the nail will not be a magnet anymore. The more turns that we make, the more staples will we attract. The more the battery is used, the more staples will be attracted. Many waste disposal seperates the metal and the other materials with electromagnet so it will be easier to seperate those things. -2 type D Battery
-A long nail
-5-10 staples
Instructions:
-turn the wire to the nail 20-50 times tightly.
-connect it to the battery.
-try to attract some staples.
-If you want the power of the electromagnet to increase, then add some more batteries or turn the wire to the nail more.
